Skincare lovers will know the importance of beauty from within despite having a cabinet full of serums and face creams. One of the big contributors to glowing and youthful skin is collagen and as we age, the production of this protein decreases hence, many start taking collagen supplements to slow down the signs of ageing.
Australian brand Vida Glow, uses clinically proven natural marine collagen (taken from fish) as the main ingredient to deliver results they claim are similar to having a skin-renewing facial. Vida Glow’s latest Pro Collagen+ claims to deliver visible skin improvement in as little as 21 days.
With a decade of clinical research and technology, the hydrolysed tripeptide marine collagen inside the sachets targets deeper lines and reduces wrinkles, reportedly 82% of testers see a reduction in forehead wrinkles in six weeks. Another 34% said their crow’s feet wrinkles are less noticeable after taking it for 12 weeks.
The Pro Collagen+, which comes in a box of 30 servings for £55, is available on Vida Glow website but Escentual shoppers can get 20% off by using code ESCENTUAL20, which brings the price down to £44. Given the product is largely based on hydrolysed tripeptide marine collagen, many were surprised that it “does not taste fishy” when mixed with either water or any hot drink.
One said: “It’s really easy to drink and it’s flavourless when I mixed it with my morning coffee and after two weeks, my skin has become smoother and it gives off a subtle glow even when I have no makeup on.”
“Highly recommend it,” another shared. “My complexion has improved overall and the spots on my face faded but I also noticed how it helped with my nails and hair. My hair is now shiny and healthy.”
Another left a lukewarm review, saying: “My skin is brighter and the lines on my forehead are less obvious. I’m 54 and I’m not after the no-fold look but I have my friends asking me if I have got any work done. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging, it’s not tearable which means I won’t be able to have it on the go unless I bring a pair of scissors with me.”
Founder Anna Lahey suggests users are consistent and take one sachet every day for two to three months as skin cycles every 30 days to see the best results. Other brands offer collagen supplements in liquid form, with flavours like mango, peach, pineapple.
British start-up Zooki offers two strengths and shoppers can get 10% off the 5,000mg strength liquid collagen in either mango peach, citrus lime or berry flavours for £26.99. Alternatively, Absolute Collagen offers a higher strength Marine Liquid Collagen Supplement for Women at 8000mg collagen and it also has a 10% discount so shoppers can get it at £30.59 on Amazon.
