Retinol alternative cream dubbed ‘fountain of youth in a jar’

An anti-ageing moisturiser loved by women who want to give their skin a lift has been dubbed a “fountain of youth in a jar”.  Merging potent herbal oils with high-tech ingredients, the Zelens 3T Complex Anti-Ageing Cream offers a bucketload of hydration, smoothness, elasticity and vitality to support healthy-looking skin while preventing visible signs of ageing.

Suitable for all skin types, the velvety-rich cream is touted by the brand as effectively triggering the cellular processes necessary for skin regeneration and repair. This is down to the potent vegan formula that consists of ursolic acid, a potent liposome-encapsulated blend of 15 botanicals and seven algae-infused herbal oils.

Skincare buffs who have tried the cream reportedly said they “wake up with a radiant glow” and “plumper skin” and over time, a reduction in fine lines and fading of wrinkles. Usually £95, the 3T Complex Cream has been reduced to £85.50 at Liberty and shoppers said the cream lasted them for at least four months as you “only need little for the entire face” thanks to the buttery texture.

Caroline Hirons recommended the cream on her YouTube channel and said: “3T is the best choice for you if you have what I called ‘normal skin’ and that is everyone who isn’t super dehydrated and these do much more than a moisturiser.”

Another user reviewed: “I love how thick this cream is, you only need to use a small amount and your face feels well moisturised. Definitely make a difference to my skin, with fine lines looking less with continued use.” Another likened the benefits she gets from using it to a “fountain of youth” in a jar.

But not everyone’s fan of the cream’s texture. One shopper said: “This cream is so thick and greasy, it leaves a veil on your skin and makes my SPF pill off. In the end, I had to use it on my hands and can’t say I’ve seen miracles on them either.”

The 3T Complex Anti-ageing Cream can be used in the morning and evening as part of a skincare routine. It can be used on both the face and neck.

If you fancy trying a different brand instead, science-led beauty brand Augustinus Bader’s celebrity-loved The Rich Cream champions their patented TCF8 technology to repair skin for a youthful glow. A full 50ml bottle could set you back at £230 but a 15ml travel size is £74.

While Dr Barbara Sturm’s face cream, £55, features anti-ageing has Skullcap and Purslane to help calm the skin and reduce visible signs of irritation.
