All items had been previously worn and royal fans could not help but notice and took to social media to praise the Danish queen.
One user wrote on Instagram: “She is gorgeous and the master of sustainable fashion!”
A second one agreed: “Queen Mary is stunning!! I love how she upcycled the gown!”
A third one said: “Stunning perfection! Two state visits with two reworked gowns and she’s knocked it out of the park both times. This rework is genius! And it looks spectacular with the pearl parure. Gorgeous!”, while a fourth one chimed: “This is a lovely upcycle! I love the added organza ‘jacket'”.
Lastly, a fifth one commented: “That dress is gooorgeous. And those jewels and crown are the icing on top. Absolutely lovely!”
Earlier in the day, the royal couple were welcomed in an official ceremony.
They also held a meeting with the Norwegian president, Masud Gharahkhani, at the royal palace before attending a wreath-laying service at Akershus Fortress to commemorate victims of the Second World War.
