Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley, was married four times in her brief 54 years, including to Michael Jackson for a couple of years in the early 1990s.
And now her mother, Priscilla Presley, has spoken out about her disapproval in her new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis.
The 80-year-old wrote: “I was appalled by the marriage. I knew in my bones that Michael wasn’t marrying Lisa Marie; he was marrying the Presley dynasty.”
She wrote that the King of Pop, who died aged 50 in 2009, needed “good publicity” following his alleged child abuse, which he denied.
