Optical illusion forces you to stare at centre for seconds

Baffled Brits have been left scratching their heads after a ‘magic eye’ optical illusion went viral on Reddit, with users struggling to spot the hidden image within a picture of flowers.

Optical illusions are not just entertaining; they’re brainteasers that can help sharpen your mind. The more you tackle, the better you get at spotting the secrets they hide.

A recent post on Reddit’s ‘Optical Illusion’ forum has people buzzing as they try to uncover the concealed picture following the provided steps.

The instructions for this particular illusion are simple: “Put your nose to the screen”, then “stare at the image for several seconds”. Next, you’re supposed to “start to pull back slowly and notice what appears”.

But the question is, can you see the hidden image in this floral puzzle?

To ensure success, it’s crucial to adhere to the guidelines. One person said: “These were insanely popular in the 90s. Magic Eye is how I knew them.”

Another expressed frustration, commenting: “I was always so good at these back in the day when they were in paper or poster form, but I can’t see the ones people post now on screens for some reason. Probably doesn’t help that my phone has a big crack in the middle lol.”

For those finding it tricky, a helpful Redditor suggested: “Practice by alternating between focusing on your finger in front of your face, and then a wall behind it, and back and forth. It’s the lateral movement of your eyes and specifically the refocusing action you need.”

In response, someone shared their own technique: “Oh nice trick I never knew that. My strategy was always cross my eyes until you see the inverse image so I could at least note the outline which made it easier to see it the real way.”

One individual found the advice extremely helpful, exclaiming: “Dude! I have never, ever been able to see these things no matter how hard I tried. But I just used your advice and can see one for the first time ever! Thank you! (Everyone else saw a butterfly, right?)

Another chimed in with gratitude: “Thanks, man. Tried the finger trick, and now I can see the butterfly. I was starting to get bummed that I couldn’t make it work.”
