Black Friday is taking place on Friday, November 29, 2024, and shoppers will see hundreds of retailers drop their prices in honour of the biggest annual sale event.
Marks and Spencer, or M&S, doesn’t officially take part in the Black Friday sales (if it follows previous years, you won’t find the words ‘Black Friday’ mentioned on its website) however, for the past few years it’s still offered discounts throughout November, and even more on Black Friday itself.
Although we’re five weeks away from Black Friday, M&S has plenty of offers that you can shop right now – and sometimes browsing outside of official sale periods can be less stressful and overwhelming.
From on-trend jackets to stylish homeware pieces, there’s no shortage of deals to get your teeth into, and some could even come in handy for some early Christmas shopping.
Without an in-your-face sale page, it can sometimes be more time-consuming to find bargains amongst thousands of items, so we’ve rounded up the best M&S deals to shop now, and this page will be updated regularly in the run-up to the auspicious Black Friday 2024 date.
Sifting through the clearance section on the M&S website can be a task in itself, however, we’ve whittled out the less seasonally-appropriate items, and have also included some that aren’t discounted but are particularly affordable even at full price.
It wouldn’t be an M&S round-up without showcasing some examples of items that combine value for money and quality – something that the retailer is famed for.
Here are some of our top picks of the current deals on offer from M&S right now. But, if you’re keen to see if the retailer discounts anything further during the Black Friday period keep refreshing this page, as we will be updating in the lead-up and throughout the massive November sale event.
If you’ve visited M&S’ website or stores the past few Black Fridays, you’d know that the retailer doesn’t advertise a sale named after the annual shopping date, instead launching it’s own sale typically during the same period.
Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert team addressed the question over M&S’ participation in Black Friday, saying: ”Although M&S’ official line is that it doesn’t participate in Black Friday, it’s clear that it does – just without the Black Friday marketing. From what we’ve seen in the past, the deals can be decent, so it’s one that’s worth looking at if there’s something you’re after.”
If last year’s anything to go by, Marks and Spencer launched up to 50% off selected fashion brands including some of the top concessions like Nobody’s Child, Ghost and White stuff, plus up to 20% off selected beauty, so we could expect something similar for 2024.
It’s also worth keeping an eye on the ‘home and furniture’ section, as one of the first sales to take place in November last year offered up to 40% off selected homeware.
Black Friday is due to officially kick off on November 29, 2024, with sales lasting for the duration of the weekend. Even more deals will be on offer when Cyber Monday commences on December 2, 2024.
Then, to top it off, many airlines, cruise lines, hotels and holiday brands launch special travel deals on what has become known as Travel Tuesday – taking place on December 3, 2024, this year.
Black Friday has become one of the biggest shopping dates on the calendar, and although there are six weeks to go, it’s never too early to start planning ahead.
The shopping extravaganza has extended into a four-day event, with thousands of products reduced across from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.
