Twilight fans left in stitches after Googling the movie | Films | Entertainment

October has arrived, signalling the start of the spooky season.

People are cosying up with their pumpkin-spice lattes and secretly munching on sweets meant for trick-or-treaters while enjoying their favourite monster flicks. While some choose to watch something terrifying, others indulge in a trip down memory lane with a teen romance like Twilight.

The film series, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s novels, chronicles the life of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), a teenager who falls head over heels for Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a 104-year-old vampire trapped in the body of a 17-year-old high school student.

Their love story triggers conflicts with werewolves, such as Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and other more conventional vampires who continue to prey on humans.

The films and books became a global phenomenon following the release of the first movie in 2008 and still make a comeback every Halloween. However, fans have recently discovered a peculiar occurrence when they Google the movie.

In a video that has garnered over 196,000 likes since it was posted online by YouTuber Tyler Warwick, the search displays the words “hoa hoa hoa season”.

This is a nod to a viral sound clip from Eyes of Fire by Blue Foundation. The song features in the scene where Bella waits by her car to confront Edward about his desire to change classes because of her in the first film.

The tune has caught on like wildfire across TikTok, with folks humorously tagging it as ‘hoa’ in reference to its catchy lyrics. People on Instagram burst into laughter upon discovering Google had joined the bandwagon.

One user joked: “Did you just create a cultural movement?!?” Another quipped: “HAHAHA I just took a look for myself. I cannot believe this. Whoever at Google did this deserves a raise.”

Someone else added: “No way! Literally all of us are googling Twilight now and finding that YOU’RE RIGHT! Hoa, hoa, hoa.”
