IMDB have ranked the Top 10 Marilyn Monroe movies. The list features iconic moments in the star’s career. However, fans might be surprised to know that the number one spot goes to a movie that was not initially well received by the audience.
The Seven Year Itch is a romantic comedy that stars Tom Ewell as a family man who has been married for seven years. When his imagination starts to run wild, he begins to feel tempted by his neighbour, played by Monroe. Directed by Billy Wilder, this movie also brought us the infamous image of the sex symbol in her iconic white dress, standing above the subway grate. Monroe was nominated for a BAFTA for her role, and Ewell won a Golden Globe for Best Actor.
