These slippers look so much like a designer pair – but are £50 cheaper

Debenhams has slashed the price of a pair of slippers with striking similarities to a much more expensive brand. The Ibis Slippers are reduced to £39.99, marked down from the original price of £139.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, we’d say it’s the ideal time to snap some up as a gift (or as a present for yourself).

Not only do the slippers look cosy and comfy, they have some similarities to a pair from Ugg. The Ugg Scuffette slippers cost £90, and while they’re not exactly the same, the overall look is comparable – and the Debenhams pair is £50 cheaper.

Like their more expensive counterparts, these have a fluffy sheepskin lining and they are a similar tan hue.

The shape of the Debenhams shoes is slightly different, as they come up around the ankle, whereas the Ugg slippers have more of a traditional slipper shape, and can be slipped on and off.

The slippers have amassed a high 4.6 star rating so far on Debenhams, with one shopper saying: ”Arrived on time, well packed and exceeded expectations. Sooo fluffy. Very slightly tight but fluffiness will bed down.”

Another compared them to the brand they previously owned, adding: ”Fabulous slippers. Love them. [I] had Uggs before [and] these are just as good. Going to order more as presents.” [SIC]

Slippers come in plenty of different styles, from soft sock-style options to clogs. You can also get slippers designed with reflexology in mind, like the £69 Stormur Slippers from Simba, with cushioned pressure points for extra support and comfort. I find sturdy slippers that are cosy inside but also actually stay on handy for running around the house doing chores (with the occasion pop-out to the bins), so would personally opt for a boot style like the Debenhams slippers.

As part of its 75% off sale, Debenhams has cut the cost hundreds of fashion items, and there are also a few other slippers on sale, including the Pelican Removable Strap Slingback Slippers, which are discounted from £125 to £39.19, and have an open back with slingback strap which allows you to adjust the tightness.
