One of the greatest Westerns ever made is now streaming on BBC iPlayer | Films | Entertainment

John Ford is best known for his Western collaborations with John Wayne, but one of his greatest ever films dosen’t even feature Duke.

Back in 1946, the Hollywood director released My Darling Clementine starring Henry Fonda.

He played real-life Wild West lawman Wyatt Earp alongside Victor Mature as Doc Holliday in a plot set around the gunfight at OK Corral.

The movie’s title is based on the theme song of the same name, which features at the start and end of the movie.

Shot in Monument Valley, the film is widely regarded as one of the greatest Westerns of all time.

Considered one of Ford’s best films, the movie has 100 per cent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

My Darling Clementine is now streaming on BBC iPlayer for the next 26 days.
