If you’re looking for a film to watch that will keep you on the edge of your seat, there’s one you can’t miss out on.
One film-reviewer on TikTok has shared his top films of 2025 and one movie has gained a huge reputation.
The film TikToker, who posts on an account called @cinema.joe, says there are 15 standout films from this year.
Taking the top spot is Sinners. In his video, Joe says: “At number one, probably the most obvious answer, maybe a little boring but the right answer is Sinners.
“I’m sure some people are already calling it overrated but I disagree.
“I think this movie is big time and will remain important for many years to come.”
The film follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to 1930s Mississippi after working for Chicago bootleggers.
They use stolen money to build a new life, but their plans, and their community are threatened by a clan of vampires hiding behind the town’s racial and economic tensions.
The film mixes Southern Gothic horror with themes of race, music, and redemption.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an impressive rating of 97%.
One person who watched the film wrote: “This movie just became my greatest of all time.”
Another person penned: “Such a fun, entertaining, and well written movie! The music scene was magical and out of this world! Loved this, watching it again!”
