Fossil Raquel watch in ‘old money’ style

‘Old money’ fashion has been trending this year and we have seen influencers channelling their inner “Chanel” look with expensive-looking cardigans and gold-tone accessories.

Fashion fans have recently spotted a wristwatch that has been dubbed the new “timeless classic”. It’s the Fossil Raquel watch in gold-tone stainless steel and looks remarkably similar to watches from luxury labels like Cartier and Bulgari.

The watch has a case size of 23mm and quartz movement with a 12mm-wide strap. The roman numerals an three-hand date movement are wowing shoppers who have commented on its resemblance to the Cartier Panthère de Cartier watch – only it’s a jaw-dropping £21,900 cheaper.

Inspired by the heritage watchmaker brand, the Fossil Raquel also uses a link bracelet, that is designed to meld over the contours of the lady’s wrist with ease.

It comes with gold, silver and rose gold, with an option to change to a leather strap or stainless steel mesh bracelet. The Raquel watch is retailed at £169 and shoppers can personalise the watch with free engraving at the back of the watch.

One shopper commented on Fossil’s Instagram post: “Exactly what I liked! The design is so stunning!”

“It looks so rich!” a second referred to the Raquel watch in leather strap and a third added: “Old money! This is so classy!”

“Gold, but in my opinion the most beautiful version is the silver one with mother of the pearl,” a fourth shared.

Looking for more ‘old money’ style timepieces? Sekonda’s Monica Ladies Watch is similar to the Fossil buy but with a two-tone bracelet, you can get it for £54.99. One shopper called it a “perfect alternative” to Cartier watches.

“I absolutely loved this watch, looks so classy and rich, so cute and I loved the size, it’s like a mini Cartier watches, absolutely stunning and so aesthetic,” they added.
